In case that wheels are locked due to emergency braking during driving process, ABS will engage or release brakes automatically through measuring braking force of four wheels by computer to improve effective braking effect and keeping operating stability of steering wheel. |

HAC\DAC enables RAV4 have outstanding obstacle performance and excellent steering performance of professional SUV. When starting on craggy and slippery slope, HAC will apply brake pressure to four wheels rapidly (About 2 seconds) to prevent backward slip to the maximum extent to keep stable starting on slope and smooth climbing up. On downhill path, DAC can help driver to keep constant low speed to prevent wheels from being locked so as to improve driving stability and ensure safety on downhill path. (DAC is equipped on AT model). |

Front- row two-stage SRS air bag can start when the front of car is subjected to severe impact which may cause serious injury to front passengers possibly, dispersing and easing impact force against heads, chests and other parts of passengers while assisting safety belt in tying passengers down.
When cars are subjected to severe impact due to side impact, lateral SRS air bags will ease collision impact against passengers. Curtain SRS air bags mounted on front column, lateral part of vehicle roof and rear column will expand to cover lateral space of passenger heads to ease impact force.
* More protective action will be exerted to passengers only when SRS air bags and seat safety belts are used together.
