The sky is the limit----- Sakichi Toyoda
On Feb. 14th 1867, the inventor and the founder of TOYOTA, Sakichi Toyota was burn in a small village in present Kosai, Shizuoka, Japan as a son of the poor Carpenter Ikichi Toyoda. When he was a little child, Sakichi Toyota, under his the influence of his strong-minded and self-confident father, set his target of challenging himself with unyielding spirit and belief of devoting himself to the society with sincere appreciation, all his life had been accompanied with this belief.
Not educated at a modern university, nor at middle or high school, he helped his father's carpenter work after graduating from elementary school. Although he did not like that work at all, he had a thought of “developing a great career in the future” while seeing people around him scraping a poverty-stricken living.
In 1885, New Meiji Government of Japan promulgated “Regulations on Special Permit of Patent” to protect new inventions and new creations by laws. Young Sakichi decided to devote his entire life to the career of inventing and creating after learning of this regulation. While, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak, he did not know where to begin and how to reduce hardship of his mother without receiving any education for professional knowledge although he had big dream.
